BREAKING NEWS

DePuy Pinnacle Hip Bellwether Trials Set to Resume in 2015, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

HOUSTON, March 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today that a recent announcement was made stating that more bellwether trials are set to take place in 2015 over J&J DePuy's Pinnacle hips. The federal litigation was established in the Northern District of Texas U.S. District Court and according to a court order from February 18th, 10 cases were selected as potential bellwether candidates (DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. Pinnacle Hip Implant Product Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2244).The court overseeing the DePuy Orthopaedics Inc. Pinnacle Hip Implant Products Liability Multidistrict Litigation docket has designated 10 cases to be prepared for trial in 2015, four months after jurors reached a defense verdict in the first Pinnacle Hip Implant case to go to trial in late 2014. In the Feb. 18 order signed by U.S. District Judge Ed Kinkeade, the ten cases on the list to be prepared for trial are: Aoki (Cause No. 3:13-cv-01071-K), Borel (Cause No. 3:14-cv-00441-K), Brown (Cause No. 3:12-cv-02780-K), Christopher (Cause No. 3:14-cv-01994-K), Greer (Cause No. 3:12-cv-01672-K), Klussmann (Cause No. 3:11-cv-02800-K), O'Neill (Cause No. 3:12-cv-03027-K), Peterson (Cause No. 3:11-cv-01941-K), Ryan (Cause No. 3:13-cv-02195-K), and Thibodeau (Cause No. 3:13-cv-01027-K) in Case 3:11-md-02244-K. Johnson and Johnson continues to stand by and defend the Pinnacle hip, unlike their recent $2.5Bil settlement of the ASR hip. The upcoming bellwether trials will be a key indicator in the direction of this litigation to show if J&J will continue to fight liability on the filed cases at hand or settle like they did in the ASR litigation.

According to MTS' sources closely monitoring the litigation, J&J hasn't discussed settlement figures or possible settlement amounts regarding the Pinnacle hip, based on their belief that reports on the hip have been positive in relation to the default rates. J&J has not recalled the Pinnacle hip and they continue to sell the product due to their belief that the product is safe. However, the Pinnacle hip is designed similarly to the ASR hip, which causes metallosis (metal blood poisoning), and legal experts indicate that the Pinnacle hip data, despite it being better than ASR, still shows default rates that are not consistent with a safe product. In the upcoming months, the trials will begin in front of several juries to determine if the Pinnacle hip has caused severe damage to plaintiffs resulting in pain and suffering worth damages similar to the $250K base award settlement value in the ASR litigation.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the recent news regarding the Pinnacle hip litigation, "With DePuy winning the first bellwether trial in Texas, the next set of trials are key to the way this litigation will move. It is clear that hips with metal components that have caused metallosis and required revision surgery in past litigations have yielded settlement values of approximately $200K or more. However, that still remains in question with the DePuy Pinnacle litigation at this time."

MTS is ready to assist those who need lawsuit help with finding a qualified Pinnacle hip law firm or Pinnacle hip lawyer to provide a free evaluation on their specific case. Patients who have had an implant of a metal-on-metal hip and have been experiencing pain, high chromium and cobalt levels, and/or need a revision surgery could be in-line to receive up to $250K in compensation or more. Xarelto Lawsuit News: Bayer and Johnson & Johnson Pursue Additional FDA Approvals for Xarelto while Cases against the Blood Thinner are Consolidated into Multidistrict Litigation, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today that a recent announcement by Bayer and Johnson & Johnson was made stating that they will pursue additional FDA approvals for Xarelto, their blood thinner drug, despite the fact that lawsuits against them have been consolidated into multidistrict litigation in two U.S. courts. According to Drug Watch, the announcement was made last month by Bayer and J&J, and they seek further federal approvals for Xarelto for stroke patients.

The public announcement was made amidst the news that plaintiffs have continued to file lawsuits over the companies, and in December and January, judges both in Pennsylvania and Louisiana consolidated cases into multidistrict litigation (MDL) as well as a mass tort program. Over 100 filed lawsuits, with claims of serious health problems and even death as a result of using Xarelto, are now awaiting trial.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS commented on the recent news regarding Bayer and Johnson & Johnson, "The recent FDA request is one that will be watched carefully by legal experts, especially in light of the fact that Xarelto lawsuit filings continue torise each month. The blood thinner drug has showed promising results, however, the lawsuit claims being filed will determine at what cost. What the FDA has to say about the new approval request may determine an important direction in the Xarelto mass tort litigation."

MTS is ready and able to assist those who need lawsuit help with finding a qualified Xarelto law firm or Xarelto lawyer to provide a free evaluation on their specific case. Johnson & Johnson Settles Over 100 Transvaginal Mesh Tape and Sling Cases, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

ATLANTA, Feb. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today that Johnson and Johnson recently agreed to settle over 100 lawsuits regarding their Mentor unit manufactured transvaginal mesh tape and sling devices. The lawsuits claim that the TVM (transvaginal mesh) devices caused permanent injuries for the women plaintiffs involved. The settlement was reached in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Georgia, however, J&J chose not to disclose the amount of money they agreed to pay to the 111 plaintiffs involved, and the exact terms of the settlement remain unknown.

The cases were consolidated in multidistrict litigation (MDL) before Judge Clay Land. The suits were in relation to the Mentor ObTape Transobturator Sling. Despite the settlement and the fact that the sling was discontinued in 2006, J&J maintains that the sling is a safe product. There are still hundreds of other cases pending before Judge Clay Land, with six bellwether cases set for trial in October and November.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS commented on the recent J&J settlement, "The Mentor ObTape Transobturator settlement is a significant one, not for the amount of cases or the settlement value or amounts, but because it shows a willingness by J&J to begin the process of settling at least some of their TV-Tape or bladder sling cases. The TVT Sling products are not considered to be the higher value of the transvaginal mesh cases, however the bottom line is that the plaintiffs of these settled cases will now get some relief."

MTS is able to assist those who need lawsuit help with finding a qualified transvaginal mesh law firm or transvaginal mesh lawyer to provide a free evaluation on their specific case. To learn more about MTS' services involving TVM litigations, please visit: https://www.lawsuitsettlementnews.com/transvaginal-mesh-lawsuits

Lawsuit Settlement News urges any women who are having complications with any of the transvaginal mesh products or slings to seek immediate consultation to inquire if they are eligible for compensation. As more and more manufacturers begin to settle their cases, the time to file a claim may be limited. Settlements in other cases with serious side effects and multiple revision surgeries have netted some plaintiffs settlements in the $500K range.

If you already have an attorney and filed a lawsuit and need a lawsuit funding cash advance, not to be confused with a lawsuit loan or pre-settlement loan, Lawsuit Settlement News can also assist you with these services. GranuFlo, Xarelto, and Morcellator Lawsuits Continue to Rise Due to Complications, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

BOCA RATON, Fla., Jan. 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today a primary focus on assisting potential plaintiffs who have dealt with complications as a result of GranuFlo, Xarelto, and/or Morcellator products.

GranuFlo and NaturaLyte are chemical dialysis products that are used in dialysis machines to help clean the blood of patients with kidney malfunctions. The products were designed to prevent dangerous acid buildup in the kidneys; however, recent lawsuits against them claim that the ingredients may also increase the risk of cardiac arrest and/or various cardiovascular problems. Serious side effects include: heart attack, cardiopulmonary arrest, cardiovascular death, and stroke. In March of 2012, The U.S. FDA issued a recall of GranuFlo and NaturaLyte products, which the FDA has now declared as a Class I Recall. Currently, there are over 2,000 cases against Fresenius Medical Care Inc., and they have been consolidated into multidistrict litigation (MDL) in Massachusetts Federal Court under U.S. District Judge Douglas P. Woodlock. The first trial is scheduled for January of 2016 with the next trial set to take place a month later (February 2016). Patients, or their family members, who have had a cardiac event in a Fresenius or DaVita Dialysis Center could be awarded large sums of money if the GranuFlo product was defective. Lawsuitsettlementnews.com can provide you with immediate access to a qualified GranuFlo law firm or lawyer that will provide you with a free legal consultation.

Xarelto is one of the most recent blood thinners on the market. According to Drug Watch, it was initially approved in 2011 and is manufactured by Bayer and is marketed by Johnson & Johnson's subsidiary, Janssen Pharmaceuticals. Dangerous side effects include: internal bleeding, intestinal bleeding, rectal bleeding, blood clots, embolism, brain hemorrhaging, and death caused by uncontrolled bleeding. Hundreds of lawsuits have been filed over blood thinners, including not only Xarelto but Pradaxa as well, and they have been consolidated into multidistrict litigation (MDL). Pradaxa cases have recently settled for an average settlement amount of over $150K, though many cases with serious injuries have recovered substantially more. Lawsuitsettlementnews.com believes patients with Xarelto claims could see settlement amounts in a similar range.

To apply for a free legal consultation from a Xarelto law firm or Xarelto lawyer, please visit: https://www.lawsuitsettlementnews.com/pradaxa-all-blood-thinner-cases

Morcellators have been used in a range of laparoscopic surgeries, including hysterectomy and myomectomy procedures and laparoscopic spleen and renal surgeries. Although the morcellator device provides a less-invasive surgery and quicker recovery time, there have been reports of the following potential side effects: spread of malignant tissue, advanced-stage cancerous growths, and metastatic leiomyosarcoma (an aggressive uterine cancer). With as many as 50,000 surgeries a year involving morcellation of fibroids, Johnson & Johnson is a market leader in morcellation device sales. Several lawsuits have already been filed against Johnson & Johnson relating to the power morcellation devices. Among those who have already filed are patients who were diagnosed with advanced stage cancer following the procedure with the morcellation device. Johnson & Johnson is also facing thousands of lawsuits over their faulty hip and pelvic mesh devices. While the cases are still very new, Johnson & Johnson is contesting liability. It is vitally important that potential plaintiffs of Morcellator cases seek qualified attorneys who have expertise in these cases. Lawsuitsettlementnews.com can assist you with obtaining a free legal consultation on your Morcellator case from a Morcellator law firm or Morcellator attorney.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the recent increase of filed lawsuits over these products, "With the recent lawsuit filings on all of these cases, we now believe that all of these litigations will pick up steam and continue to grow in class size. All of the litigations have serious side effects and if the defendants are found liable at trial they could face substantial financial losses. We are adding these three products to our expanding list of mass tort litigation services that we are providing to patients and plaintiffs who need lawsuit funding, surgical funding, or a free legal consultation if they have yet to file a lawsuit claim."

da Vinci Lawsuits Continue to be Signed up by Law Firms Due to Recalls and Complications, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today a prime focus on assisting plaintiffs who have dealt with complications due to Intuitive Surgical System's da Vinci robot. It is estimated that the da Vinci machine is used in nearly 400K surgeries each year. Many patients who have undergone these types of surgeries have dealt with complications such as: lacerations to internal organs (including intestines), burns to internal organs and blood vessels, excessive bleeding, nerve damage, severe bowel injuries, punctured blood vessels or ureters, various vaginal injuries, and even death. There have been many lawsuits filed against Intuitive Surgical Inc., though at this time there is no specific number. The lawsuits have undoubtedly stemmed from reported injuries such as those listed above as well as others not listed. Intuitive Surgical Inc. reported in SEC 10-K filings that they have reserved $67MM to defend and settle some product liability claims in regards to the robotic surgery. Global settlement discussions haven't been reported yet, but according to industry experts, it is anticipated that some cases have actually settled privately. Many industry experts predict that cases with serious injuries and need for additional corrective surgeries could reach as high as $300-$500K per case.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the da Vinci lawsuits, "The da Vinci mass tort litigation is one that we have been actively following. Intuitive has already committed $67MM to defend the suit and it is expected that this number could increase with their year-end filing, with a larger 'write down.' We have also obtained information from sources close to the litigation that the company has already begun to settle some cases privately at lower settlement values to avoid litigation. Lastly, the company has also agreed to a 'tolling agreement' which will make the total number of filed claims tough to figure since the tolling agreement allows the plaintiff not to have to file suit and not be penalized for any statute of limitation issues. For all of these reasons, we believe this litigation is one that will continue to grow in size in 2015, and patients who were possibly harmed by a da Vinci robot surgery should seek immediate legal consultation."

MTS can assist patients who need lawsuit help with finding a qualified da Vinci Law Firm or da Vinci lawyer to provide a free evaluation on their case. Stryker Hip Recall Products (Rejuvenate and ABG II) Settle for $1 Billion; Largest Individual Base Payment Awards to Date in Mass Tort Hip Implant Settlement, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

HACKENSACK, N.J., Nov. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today a prime focus on assisting plaintiffs who have suffered with complications from a Stryker hip implant due to the $1 billion settlement that was announced last week by Stryker Corporation. People who have received the Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II hip replacement devices and subsequently had them removed are qualified to participate in the settlement, which was reached in State Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey and in Federal Court in Minnesota. However, those who sued prior to device failure without replacement surgery before November 3rd are not eligible to partake in the settlement, but according to lawyers in NorthJersey.com, they "could be covered in a future round of negotiations" with Stryker Corp.

In July of 2012, the Rejuvenate and ABG II implant devices were recalled by Stryker and its subsidiary Howmedica Osteonics Corp., during which time unusually high failure rates were being reported. However, more than 20k devices were implanted in people throughout the country by then. According to NorthJersey.com, "The defect was linked to the use of dissimilar metals in neck and stem components that are anchored into the femur. Corrosion of the metals released toxic substances into the blood stream and caused muscle, tissue, and bone deterioration," lawyers said. The poisoning of the blood from chromium or cobalt is also referred to as Metallosis.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the recent $1 billion Stryker settlement, "The Stryker Hip Settlement comes as no surprise with the highest default rates of any of the metal-on-metal hips. The lawyers worked very hard and expeditiously to secure the largest base hip award in history. However, cases without revisions were not included in the settlement and we urge any remaining patients who have not retained legal counsel to do so immediately in order to qualify for up to $300K in settlement amount per the Stryker recalled hip implant."

MTS can assist patients who need lawsuit help with finding a qualified Stryker Law Firm or Stryker Hip lawyer to provide a free evaluation on their case. To learn more about MTS' services involving hip litigations, visit: https://www.lawsuitsettlementnews.com/hip-implant-lawsuits

The $1 billion settlement is expected to provide plaintiffs an award of $10K to $600K for serious complications including post-operative infections, requirement for further surgeries, hip dislocations, femur fractures, heart attacks, strokes, and lost wages. There are over 3,000 people who now must decide whether or not to accept a share of the $1 billion settlement, because the agreement requires 95% of the plaintiffs to sign on, otherwise Stryker can walk away from the settlement. MTS expects that the settlement will be approved in the upcoming months; however, disbursement of funds is not expected until mid-2015.

MT Services LLC provides up-to-date lawsuit news on Stryker Hip litigations, as well as various services to assist victims with getting the help they need during this difficult time. These services include: Lawsuit Pre-Settlement Funding Cash Advances, corrective or revision surgery procedure funding(or cash needs related to your surgery), and assistance with obtaining an attorney from a nationally recognized Stryker Hip law firm. Wright Metal-on-Metal Hip Implant Lawsuit Filings Continue to Increase, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

LITTLE FALLS, N.J., Oct. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today a primary focus on assisting plaintiffs who have suffered with complications from Wright Hip products. According to an updated Case List issued September 15, 2014, approximately 800 claims have been filed involving individuals who have dealt with complicationsrelated to the all-metal design of Conserve hips from Wright Medical Technology, Inc. The complications that may arise include metallosis (metal poisoning), tissue necrosis (death), loosening and other serious problems, and premature device failure. The filings involving these metal-on-metal hip replacements continue to grow in size and awareness, and the cases are underway in a multidistrict litigation in U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Georgia.

The first bellwether trial could begin as early as March 2015. The plaintiffs involved have had Wright Conserve hips as well as Wright Profemur hip replacements, and according to Drug Watch, "The complaints allege that the devices release high levels of metal particles in the blood that can cause loosening and device failure because of Wright's faulty metal-on metal design." Wright Medical Technology, Inc. disclosed in a regulatory filing that over 800 product liability claims relating to their Conserve hip products have been filed in state and federal courts throughout the U.S.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS commented on the Wright Litigation, "Clearly with Wright disclosing that they are fighting over 800 lawsuits relating to their hip products, this litigation is shaping up to look like many other metal-on-metal hip litigations that we have recently come across. We urge patients with these implants to see doctors to see if they are having elevated blood poisoning from the metal components and if so to seek legal counsel immediately at the first finding of this. Time to file lawsuit claims against the manufacturer could be limited in some jurisdictions."

MTS can assist patients who need lawsuit help with finding a qualified Wright Law Firm or Wright Hip lawyer to provide a free evaluation on their case. To learn more about MTS' services involving hip litigations, visit: https://www.lawsuitsettlementnews.com/hip-implant-lawsuits

Although these cases are recent and growing, Wright Medical is not new to lawsuits. According to Drug Watch, an investigation had started in 2007 and the company was sued by the federal government for "questionable business practices involving bribing doctors to use their products." Wright Medical agreedto pay $7.9 million in fines in 2011 as an avoidance to admit any misconduct. Wright had also settled two Profemur lawsuits in 2013 just before they were set to go to trial. According to Drug Watch who referenced a report from the Australian National Joint Registry, "1 in every 9 patients who received a PROFEMUR Z stem has been forced to undergo revision surgery due to device failure. Complications such as corrosion, femoral neck fracture and fretting were reported."

MT Services LLC provides up-to-date lawsuit news on Wright Hip litigations, as well as various services to assist victims with getting the help they need during this difficult time. LOS ANGELES, Oct. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today a primary focus on assisting plaintiffs who have suffered with complications from Zimmer NexGen Knee implants. A significant amount of lawsuits have been filed against the leading manufacturer of knee implants, Zimmer Inc., over certain models and components of its NexGen medical devices. These components include LPS-Flex, Gender Solutions Female LPS-Flex (GSF-LPS Flex), Cruciate Retaining-Flex Femoral Components (CR-Flex), and CR-Flex Gender Solutions Female CR-Flex (GSF-Flex). The devices were meant to increase range of motion and imitate natural knee function, but plaintiffs who have filed cases against Zimmer Inc. claim that the devices actually caused a decreased range of motion as well as extreme pain, tissue and/or nerve damage, bone degradation or fractures, instability, infection, blood clots, and ultimate failure of device implant. Among those who have filed lawsuits, painful revision surgery was often required.

According to court documents, an estimated 150,000 patients have been implanted with the NexGen Flex devices, and over 1,000 Zimmer Knee lawsuits are currently pending across the country; however, MTS expects these numbers to rise as more knee implants begin to fail. Starting in 2010, the FDA issued recalls for various components of the NexGen knee mechanisms (the NexGen LPS femoral component, the NexGen LPS Flex gender femoral component, and the NexGen MIS tibial components), however, none of the models have been permanently removedfrom the marketplace. An estimated 50K knee replacements are believed to be directly affected by the recalls. Federal lawsuits have been consolidated into multidistrict litigation (MDL) in the U.S. District Court in the North District of Illinois, with the first bellwether trial set to begin in 2015.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the lawsuits filed, "The Zimmer knee litigation is now beginning to gain a lot of traction with over 1,000 cases filed in courts throughout the U.S. We believe there is a large number of patients who received these implants that are subject to FDA recall, and that they may now beginning to see the debilitating effects of the NexGen product. The time to file a lawsuit claim is now if patients have not done so already."

Transvaginal Mesh Lawsuit Settlement News: Mass Tort Services Expect More Mesh Settlements by End of Year

HOUSTON, Oct. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today that their sources close to the transvaginal mesh litigation believe that more settlements will occur prior to the end of 2014. To date, Endo Pharmaceutical's American Medical Systems (AMS) has been the only major mesh manufacturer to announce a global settlement agreement on just some of their outstanding claims. The other manufacturers are still fighting resolution. MTS believes that AMS will announce more settlements on other cases that are still pending and at least one – if not two – other manufacturers will also announce settlements by year end in order to "write off" these losses in fiscal 2014.

The transvaginal mesh and bladder sling litigation is one of the biggest product liability litigations of all time, with over 50K claims active in the court system and potentially 100K total claims expected to be filed. Thousands of women have dealt with complications due to transvaginal mesh products that were poorly designed and tested, including physical injuries as well as emotional and financial distress. Many of these women are filing legal claims, and winning. According multiple reports, these women include Christine Scott who was awarded $5.5MM by a jury in Bakersfield, California (CA) in 2012, Linda Gross who won $11 Million dollars in February of 2013 from Atlantic City, New Jersey (NJ), and Donna Cisson who was awarded $2MM in August of 2013 by a jury in Charleston, West Virginia (WV). The latest jury award for a plaintiff was in Dallas, Texas (TX) where the jury found Boston Scientific to be liable for $73MM in total damages in favor of plaintiff Martha Salazar. However, Boston Scientific had won two previous bellwether trials.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS commented, "We believe the 2013 Bloomberg report of a major mesh settlement was slightly premature, as there were many issues to work out with the complexity of these cases in 2014, especially what the average mesh settlement amount or value would be. However, with the recent Bellwether losses by the defendants, our sources close to the mesh litigation now believe that several of the big manufacturers are ready to take the necessary "write offs" from their financial statements in order to settle a majority of their mesh cases by the end of 2014. If true, this should be good news to many of the companies' investors on Wall Street who would like these cases settled sooner rather than later, as well as the thousands of women who have suffered dearly from transvaginal mesh and bladder sling implants and revision surgeries."

It is not too late to file a transvaginal mesh or bladder sling lawsuit if you are having complications. MTS advises any patients who have had a revision surgery, or believe they will need one in the near future, to seek a free legal consultation immediately from a transvaginal mesh lawyer or transvaginal mesh law firm or by inquiring directly with MTS at: https://www.lawsuitsettlementnews.com/transvaginal-mesh-lawsuits

Many women filing claims against the device manufacturers have had to undergo multiple revision surgeries. According to MTS, seven (7) major mesh manufacturers face the majority of the 50K cases consolidated in the multidistrict litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia under Chief Judge Joseph R. Goodwin. There are also thousands more claims pending in state courts. The two device manufacturers with the most amount of cases are American Medical Systems and Ethicon. Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon division reported in recent filings that they are fighting over 30K claims alone. Other manufacturers include Boston Scientific, C.R. Bard, Coloplast, Cook Medical, and Neomedic.

These services include: Lawsuit Pre-Settlement Funding Cash Advances, corrective or revision surgery procedure funding (or cash needs related to your surgery), and assistance with obtaining an attorney from a nationally recognized transvaginal mesh law firm. (Lawsuit funding or surgical funding products should not be considered to be a lawsuit loan, lawsuit loans, settlement loans, pre-settlement loans, or lawsuit settlement loans.)

Lawsuit Settlement News Reports Actos Drug Cases Trial and Settlement News Update

NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today a primary focus on assisting plaintiffs of the aftereffects of the pharmaceutical drug Actos. According to court documents on August 28th, U.S. District Judge Rebecca Doherty, the judge who is overseeing thousands of Actos lawsuits, refused to overturn a $9 billion verdict in the first bellwether trial of the proceedings. According to KWQC News in Davenport, IA, the judge ruled against the bid because the jury on the case studied and considered evidence suggesting the officials at Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Eli Lilly knew that the use of Actos could lead to an increased risk in developing bladder cancer but failed to adequately warn both doctors and patients of the possibility. The verdict, which is likely to be reduced on appeal according to legal experts due to its sheer size, is the second-largest in the U.S. in 2014, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Court documents show the case at hand was the first of over 3,000 Actos lawsuits pending in the Western District of Louisiana to go to trial. All of the pending claims in Louisiana allege that Takeda and other defendants hid the risk of bladder cancer associated withthe extended use of the drug.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the recent verdicts, "Unfortunately for Eli Lilly and Takeda, the successful sales with this drug clearly produced a high percentage of bladder cancer victims according to the data and the mass lawsuits. The fact that the judge did not throw the verdict out, in spite of a rare $9Bil jury award, says that the case will now proceed to appeal process and will most likely be reduced due to the excessive nature in the message the jury sent to the Actos drug maker."

MTS advises any patients that have contracted bladder cancer while taking Actos to seek a free legal consultation immediately from an Actos Lawyer or Actos Law firm or by inquiring directly with MTS at: https://www.lawsuitsettlementnews.com/actos-cases
