Transvaginal Mesh Settlement News: Boston Scientific Reaches First TVM Settlement, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

PHILADELPHIA, May 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, reports today that Boston Scientific Corporation has agreed to pay about $119 million to settle approximately 2,970 cases over its transvaginal mesh products. According to Reuters, Boston Scientific Corp. said the company will put settlement funds into an escrow account by October 1st, and it will also establish a process for claimants to participate in the settlement. However, Boston Scientific Corporation contests liability or any wrongdoing despite its agreement to pay the settlement. Also according to the article in Reuters, Boston Scientific still faces over 25,000 mesh claims in federal and state courts throughout the U.S.

Thousands of claims against Boston Scientific are still pending, and they've been consolidated into multidistrict litigation (MDL) under U.S. District Judge Joseph Goodwin in the Southern District of West Virginia (Boston Scientific MDL 2326).

Chris Janish, CEO of Legal-Bay, commented on the recent settlement, "The time is winding down for possible victims of transvaginal mesh injuries to file claims. The judge is trying to resolve all the existing claims as quickly as possible, and once the majority of settlements are announced it will be much harder to file a claim. Today's announcement is important not only for existing claims, but puts notice to patients who have not yet filed claims to do so immediately if they have had injuries which required a revision surgery, or if they are still in need of a revision surgery."

MTS, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company, is able to assist plaintiffs who need lawsuit money, surgical funding, or lawsuit help with finding a qualified transvaginal mesh law firm or transvaginal mesh lawyer to provide a free evaluation on their specific case. To learn more about MTS' services involving TVM litigations, please visit: https://www.lawsuitsettlementnews.com/transvaginal-mesh-lawsuits

Lawsuit Settlement News urges any women who are having complications with any of the transvaginal mesh products or bladder or pelvic slings that were implanted in the last five years to seek immediate legal consultation to determine if they may have a potential claim and are eligible for compensation. Time may be limited to do so as more manufacturers settle the claims against them. Settlements and jury verdicts in other cases with serious side effects and multiple revision surgeries have netted some plaintiffs settlements in the $500K range. In order to obtain compensation, you must file a timely lawsuit with the assistance of a mesh law firm.

If you, or a loved one, have been injured by a transvaginal mesh device and need lawsuit money or lawsuit help, including finding a TVM law firm, obtaining up to $30K in pre-settlement lawsuit funding, or obtaining surgical funding if you don't currently have insurance, call 877.571.0405.

Takeda officials announced that they will put the money into a settlement fund if 95% of plaintiffs agree to participate in the settlement; and if 97% of the plaintiffs sign up, the drug maker would add an additional $300 million, raising the settlement to $2.4 billion, according to Bloomberg News. Settlement awards would be more than $296,000 per case for plaintiffs who choose to participate in the settlement, but settlement amounts may be reduced depending on certain factors such as age, smoking history, and toxin exposure.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the recent Actos settlement, "It is great to see that a litigation over a drug that has produced serious side effects such as bladder cancer is starting to come to a final resolution. Although many patients and their family members will never be the same, a settlement of this size speaks volumes on many levels. Takeda is trying to move forward and also stop new lawsuit claims from coming in, however, possible victims of bladder cancer from Actos should not be deterred and should seek counsel before it is too late to claim their potential award like the rest of the plaintiffs."

Lawsuit Help Center Announces Dedication to Assisting Xarelto Victims

Los Angeles, May 14, CA – MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today that they are dedicated to helping victims, or their family members, who have suffered complications or even death as a result of using the blood thinner, Xarelto. This announcement comes just after new court documents were issued in two courts – the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Louisiana and the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. The two new court documents were issued in consolidated litigations over Xarelto in both states listed. Court documents dated March 23rd in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas show that approval came for a Master Long Form Complaint, indicating that plaintiffs with potential claims who want to file suit in that state will now be able to use the approved Master Long Form Complaint in Pennsylvania's mass tort proceeding for Xarelto (In Re: Xarelto Litigation, Case ID 150102349). A court order dated March 24th in the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Louisiana – where the Xarelto federal multidistrict litigation (MDL) is underway – indicates that plaintiffs will now be able to file their cases directly in the proceedings (In Re: Xarelto Products Liability Litigation, No. 2592).

Currently, there are 402 filed lawsuits over Xarelto in the federal litigation in Louisiana, with an additional 204 known cases with similar claims pending in Pennsylvania's mass tort proceeding, according to court documents. The lawsuits allege serious uncontrollable bleeding events and even death as a result of using the blood thinner, Xarelto. According to Drug Watch, lawsuits indicate that hundreds of patients have died as a result of bleeding events caused by Xarelto, and in 2012, the FDA reported that three times more people died while on the blood thinner, Xarelto, in comparison to warfarin due to adverse bleeding events. Now, the lawsuits are growing as the litigation picks up steam, and MTS is prepared to assist patients who believe they may have a potential claim against Xarelto's maker, Bayer and Johnson & Johnson's Janssen Pharmaceutical Division.

Stryker Hip Lawsuit Settlement News: Judge Issues Order for Plaintiffs who have Required Revision Surgery, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

ATLANTA, May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today that court documents issued on April 17th by U.S. District Judge Donavan Frank, Pretrial Order No. 26, mandate that plaintiffs who undergo a corrective surgery due to an alleged defective Stryker Rejuvenate or ABG II hip implant are required to file notice with the court within 45 days. Each plaintiff must provide the basic details of the surgery they have undergone as part of their lawsuit. A settlement was reached last year for plaintiffs who had a revision/corrective surgery on or before November 2nd of 2014, but additional claimants have continued to undergo corrective surgeries, resulting in the necessity for court updates. Judge Donavan Frank is overseeing the multidistrict litigation (MDL) relating to the Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II replacement hips in the US District Court, District of Minnesota (Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II Hip Implant Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2441).

Currently, more than 5,000 lawsuits have been filed concerning both Stryker hip models since the 2012 recall. Due to the high number of claims, two litigations have been set up: the multidistrict litigation (MDL) in the U.S. District Court in the District of Minnesota, and a state-level multi-county litigation (MCL) which is taking place before Judge Brian R. Martinotti in Bergen County, New Jersey (NJ).

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the recent court order, "The recent order shows the judge's intent to make sure that this hip recall litigation can move quickly to a final resolution. Since the settlement was announced at an average settlement amount or value of approximately $300K per hip, more claims have been filed and further revisions have occurred. However, the courts and Stryker are trying to require notification of revisions almost immediately. It is extremely important that anyone with an AGB II or Rejuvenate Hip case seeks counsel right now to preserve any rights they have to file a hip lawsuit."

MTS is ready to assist potential plaintiffs who need lawsuit help with finding a qualified Stryker hip law firm or hip recall lawyer to provide a free evaluation on their specific case. Patients who havehad an implant of a metal-on-metal hip and have been experiencing pain, high chromium and cobalt levels (known as metallosis), and/or need a revision surgery could be in-line to receive up to $250-300K in compensation or more. Stryker Hip recall settlement values have been announced at up to $300K per hip. If you already have an attorney and have filed a hip lawsuit and need a law cash advance, not to be confused with a lawsuit loan or pre-settlement loan, Lawsuit Settlement News is here to assist you. Injured parties from Stryker hip (or other hip implant) device complications can apply for up to $50K in pre-settlement or settlement lawsuit funding. Transvaginal Mesh Lawsuit News: Another Joint Conference Status Meeting Ordered by Judge to Resolve More than 70K TVM Lawsuits against Several Mesh Manufacturers, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

CHARLESTON, W.Va., April 27, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, reports today that U.S. District Judge Joseph Goodwin issued a court order for another joint conference status meeting in hopes to resolve more than 70,000 transvaginal mesh lawsuits against seven different mesh manufacturers who are involved in multidistrict litigations under him. The TVM multidistrict litigations (MDL) have been going on for some time, and Judge Goodwin has ordered another joint conference status meeting in effort to try to resolve the claims. The pretrial order was issued by U.S. District Judge Joseph Goodwin on April 2nd, according a court document, and the meeting is to occur on June 2nd with the following listed defendant representatives: American Medical Systems, Bard Avaulta, Boston Scientific, Coloplast, Cook, and Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon ((1) Bard/TSL & Sofradim MDL 2187; (2) Boston Scientific MDL 2326; (3) Ethicon MDL 2327; (4) Coloplast MDL 2387; (5) Cook MDL 2440).

The pending lawsuits claim that different transvaginal mesh devices – or bladder slings – manufactured by the seven TVM manufacturers involved have caused serious injuries and complications for the women plaintiffs who have filed suits. The devices were initially implanted to treat pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and female stress urinary incontinence (SUI). However, when the devices caused complications, it resulted in the high number of lawsuits against the seven different mesh manufacturers. Due to the high number of lawsuits, they were consolidated into multidistrict litigations in order to hopefully resolve the suits as quickly and efficiently as possible with large scale settlements. The proceedings will be taking place under U.S. District Judge Joseph Goodwin in Charleston in the U.S. District Court, Southern District, of West Virginia.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the recent court order for the meeting, "The size of this litigation, and all the various manufacturers, is greatly affecting the ability to settle all the claims. The fact that the judge is pushing to get this conference meeting is a good sign that hopefully reasonable settlement values and settlement amounts can be agreed upon so that so many women can get some financial relief from their injuries."

If you, or a loved one, have been injured by a transvaginal mesh device and need lawsuit money or lawsuit help, including finding a TVM law firm, obtaining up to $30K in pre-settlement lawsuit funding, or obtaining surgical funding if you don't currently have insurance, call 877.571.0405 to speak with an available agent. FDA Announces Class II Recall of Zimmer Inc.’s Persona Trabecular Metal Tibial Plate Knee Implant, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

NEW ORLEANS, April 23, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today that the FDA announced a Class II recall for Zimmer's Persona Trabecular Metal Tibial Plate knee implant. The recall affects all lots and sizes of the knee implant, affecting all 11,658 devices that were recalled, according to the FDA's website. Also, according to an announcement made by the FDA, they said Zimmer Inc. initiated a voluntary recall of their Persona Trabecular Metal Tibial after there was an increase in complaints of loosening and radiolucent lines. All sizes and lots of the affected devices will be removed from the market and will no longer be distributed. A Class II Recall occurs when a product can "cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences." Patients who have been implanted with the Persona Trabecular Metal Tibial Plate face the risk of their tibial component loosening. Indications of this complication include radiolucent lines on imaging tests, and such loosening may cause pain and issues with mobility, often requiring the patient to have an additional surgery.

Prior to this latest Class II Recall, Zimmer Inc. issued voluntary recalls for its metal-on-metal hip device – the Durom Cup, in 2008 – and another recall for the NexGen MIS Tibial Components in 2010. Those recalls led to lawsuits which are pending in a federal multidistrict litigation (In Re: Zimmer Durom Hip Cup Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2158) and Illinois (In Re: Zimmer NexGen Knee Implant Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 2272).

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the recent Zimmer Class II Recall, "We are not surprised to see another voluntary recall on another Zimmer knee product. The current product has only had roughly 11K implants in the U.S., however, reports from our knee recall attorneys close to the litigation are that this product has an extremely high failure rate and could be the subject of thousands of filed lawsuit claims."

Actos Lawsuit Settlement News: Takeda Offers $2.2 Billion Settlement, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

NEW ORLEANS, April 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today that Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. is offering $2.2 billion to settle more than 8,000 federal and state lawsuits over its drug Actos. Although the deal is not finalized, it would be a historic class action settlement if and when it is, amounting to about $275,000 per case involved. However, many cases involving more serious injury or death are expected to see settlement values north of $500K. The 8K cases involved in the settlement proposal include 3,500 lawsuits in Lafayette, Louisiana before U.S. District Judge Rebecca Doherty (In Re: Actos (Pioglitazone) Products Liability Litigation, 11-md-02299, U.S. District Court, Western District of Louisiana), and 4,500 suits in California, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. The plaintiffs who have filed suit against Takeda claim that the drug maker hid the cancer risks of the diabetes drug.

The large settlement offering came just after the recent $36.8 million award against Takeda and Lilly for a man who claimed that he developed bladder cancer after taking Actos for about five years (Allen v. Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America Inc., 12-cv-00064, U.S. District Court, Western District of Louisiana (Lafayette)). According to the Bloomberg News report, Takeda's settlement offer is only for patients who have already sued or hired a lawyer to file a suit against Actos' drug maker. Even though the settlement offer doesn't include cases with plaintiffs who have not yet filed a lawsuit claim or hired a lawyer, MTS is advising patients who have developed bladder cancer while taking the diabetes drug Actos to contact them to seek immediate legal guidance to determine if they may beeligible for an award if the settlement is approved. The deal is not yet finalized, however, the time to file a lawsuit claim against Takeda may be running out.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the recent settlement offering, "Without question, any time a drug's possible side effects is a cancer risk, then a jury could award huge amounts of money. It seems that Takeda believes the exposure is too great if the Bloomberg report is accurate and feels a global settlement is best in this serious case. Although the proposed settlement is being done to deter other possible bladder cancer patients who have used Actos from trying to recover funds, our firm believes that the attorneys in our network will still be able to recover money for plaintiffs if they act quickly."

In the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Louisiana, where the federal multidistrict litigation (MDL) for Xarelto is underway, a court order dated March 24th shows that plaintiffs will now be able to file their cases directly in the proceeding (In Re: Xarelto Products Liability Litigation, No. 2592). Additionally, court documents from March 23rd in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas show that a Master Long Form Complaint was approved, and plaintiffs with claims who want to file suit in that state will be able to use that approved Master Long Form Complaint in Pennsylvania's (PA) mass tort proceeding for Xarelto (In Re: Xarelto Litigation, Case ID 150102349).

According to court documents, there are currently more than 300 filed suits regarding Xarelto just in the federal litigation in Louisiana, with about 160 known cases as of now with similar claims pending in Pennsylvania's mass tort proceeding. In light of the recent issuance of court documents and the update in the Xarelto litigation, MTS is prepared to assist new patients who believe they have been injured by the drug that has no known antidote, according to experts.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the recent rise of Xarelto cases being filed, "We are not surprised that the number of cases being filed in both state and federal courts is rising each day. We have been receiving numerous calls from Xarelto users who have recently walked out of the hospital after an uncontrollable bleeding event. We are equipped to assist them by connecting them with a Xarelto law firm that is already deeply involved in this litigation."

MTS is ready and able to assist those who need lawsuit help with finding a qualified Xarelto law firm or Xarelto lawyer to provide a free evaluation on their specific case. DePuy ASR Round Two Settlement Program Enrollment Deadline Announced, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com

CLEVELAND, March 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today that the enrollment deadline for the second round of the DePuy ASR Hip Settlement Program has been announced. Individuals who received the DePuy ASR hip implant device revision surgeries between August 31st, 2013 and January 31st, 2015 are eligible to participate in the Settlement Program and have until May 1st, 2015 to submit their claims, according to The Legal Examiner. Those who qualify to participate in round two of the Settlement Program will need to file various forms as well as medical records to validate their claims.

Even though round two of the DePuy ASR Hip Settlement Program is in the works, it's still unclear when compensation payments will begin to be issued to the plaintiffs involved. Depending on liens in each individual case, MTS' legal experts believe most payments will not come until late 2015 or beyond. Also, the exact settlement agreement terms are still unknown at this time, but legal experts are expecting the terms to be quite similar to those of the first ASR settlement. In round one of the US ASR Hip Settlement Program, the plaintiffs involved received settlement awards at a value of approximately $250K.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the recent enrollment deadline announcement, "Johnson & Johnson and their DePuy hip division have been working quickly to get the plaintiffs who have qualified for this landmark settlement their money quickly. Patients who have had complications with their ASR or Pinnacle DePuy hips are urged to seek immediate legal consultation as it is possible that there is still time to file a claim against DePuy and receive a $250K base settlement amount or award."

MTS is ready to assist those who need lawsuit help with finding a qualified DePuy hip law firm or hip recall lawyer to provide a free evaluation on their specific case. Patients who have had an implant of a metal-on-metal hip and have been experiencing pain, high chromium and cobalt levels (known as metallosis), and/or need a revision surgery could be in-line to receive up to $250-300K in compensation or more. Stryker Hip recall settlement values have been announced at $300K per hip. If you already have an attorney and have filed a hip lawsuit and need a law cash advance, not to be confused with a lawsuit loan or pre-settlement loan, Lawsuit Settlement News can assist you with these services. Injured parties from Stryker hip recall (or other hip implants) device complications can apply for up to $50K in pre-settlement or settlement lawsuit funding.
