According to Reuters, Boston Scientific Corp. said the company will put settlement funds into an escrow account by October 1st, and it will also establish a process for claimants to participate in the settlement. However, Boston Scientific Corporation contests liability or any wrongdoing despite its agreement to pay the settlement. Also according to the article in Reuters, Boston Scientific still faces over 25,000 mesh claims in federal and state courts throughout the U.S.
Thousands of claims against Boston Scientific are still pending, and they've been consolidated into multidistrict litigation (MDL) under U.S. District Judge Joseph Goodwin in the Southern District of West Virginia (Boston Scientific MDL 2326).
