Lawsuit Settlement News Reports Zimmer NexGen Knee News Update on Lawsuits Against Zimmer Inc.

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today a primary focus on assisting plaintiffs who have suffered with complications from Zimmer NexGen Knee implants. A significant amount of lawsuits have been filed against the leading manufacturer of knee implants, Zimmer Inc., over certain models and components of its NexGen medical devices. These components include LPS-Flex, Gender Solutions Female LPS-Flex (GSF-LPS Flex), Cruciate Retaining-Flex Femoral Components (CR-Flex), and CR-Flex Gender Solutions Female CR-Flex (GSF-Flex). The devices were meant to increase range of motion and imitate natural knee function, but plaintiffs who have filed cases against Zimmer Inc. claim that the devices actually caused a decreased range of motion as well as extreme pain, tissue and/or nerve damage, bone degradation or fractures, instability, infection, blood clots, and ultimate failure of device implant. Among those who have filed lawsuits, painful revision surgery was often required.

According to court documents, an estimated 150,000 patients have been implanted with the NexGen Flex devices, and over 1,000 Zimmer Knee lawsuits are currently pending across the country; however, MTS expects these numbers to rise as more knee implants begin to fail. Starting in 2010, the FDA issued recalls for various components of the NexGen knee mechanisms (the NexGen LPS femoral component, the NexGen LPS Flex gender femoral component, and the NexGen MIS tibial components), however, none of the models have been permanently removedfrom the marketplace. An estimated 50K knee replacements are believed to be directly affected by the recalls. Federal lawsuits have been consolidated into multidistrict litigation (MDL) in the U.S. District Court in the North District of Illinois, with the first bellwether trial set to begin in 2015.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the lawsuits filed, "The Zimmer knee litigation is now beginning to gain a lot of traction with over 1,000 cases filed in courts throughout the U.S. We believe there is a large number of patients who received these implants that are subject to FDA recall, and that they may now beginning to see the debilitating effects of the NexGen product. The time to file a lawsuit claim is now if patients have not done so already."

MTS advises any patients who have suffered complications or dealt with limited mobility from a Zimmer NexGen Knee implant to seek a free legal consultation immediately from a Zimmer Knee Lawyer or Zimmer Knee Law firm or by inquiring directly with MTS at: https://www.lawsuitsettlementnews.com/defective-product-lawsuits

Transvaginal Mesh Lawsuit Settlement News: Mass Tort Services Expect More Mesh Settlements by End of Year

HOUSTON, Oct. 7, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today that their sources close to the transvaginal mesh litigation believe that more settlements will occur prior to the end of 2014. To date, Endo Pharmaceutical's American Medical Systems (AMS) has been the only major mesh manufacturer to announce a global settlement agreement on just some of their outstanding claims. The other manufacturers are still fighting resolution. MTS believes that AMS will announce more settlements on other cases that are still pending and at least one – if not two – other manufacturers will also announce settlements by year end in order to "write off" these losses in fiscal 2014.

The transvaginal mesh and bladder sling litigation is one of the biggest product liability litigations of all time, with over 50K claims active in the court system and potentially 100K total claims expected to be filed. Thousands of women have dealt with complications due to transvaginal mesh products that were poorly designed and tested, including physical injuries as well as emotional and financial distress. Many of these women are filing legal claims, and winning. According multiple reports, these women include Christine Scott who was awarded $5.5MM by a jury in Bakersfield, California (CA) in 2012, Linda Gross who won $11 Million dollars in February of 2013 from Atlantic City, New Jersey (NJ), and Donna Cisson who was awarded $2MM in August of 2013 by a jury in Charleston, West Virginia (WV). The latest jury award for a plaintiff was in Dallas, Texas (TX) where the jury found Boston Scientific to be liable for $73MM in total damages in favor of plaintiff Martha Salazar. However, Boston Scientific had won two previous bellwether trials.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS commented, "We believe the 2013 Bloomberg report of a major mesh settlement was slightly premature, as there were many issues to work out with the complexity of these cases in 2014, especially what the average mesh settlement amount or value would be. However, with the recent Bellwether losses by the defendants, our sources close to the mesh litigation now believe that several of the big manufacturers are ready to take the necessary "write offs" from their financial statements in order to settle a majority of their mesh cases by the end of 2014. If true, this should be good news to many of the companies' investors on Wall Street who would like these cases settled sooner rather than later, as well as the thousands of women who have suffered dearly from transvaginal mesh and bladder sling implants and revision surgeries."

It is not too late to file a transvaginal mesh or bladder sling lawsuit if you are having complications. MTS advises any patients who have had a revision surgery, or believe they will need one in the near future, to seek a free legal consultation immediately from a transvaginal mesh lawyer or transvaginal mesh law firm or by inquiring directly with MTS at: https://www.lawsuitsettlementnews.com/transvaginal-mesh-lawsuits

Many women filing claims against the device manufacturers have had to undergo multiple revision surgeries. According to MTS, seven (7) major mesh manufacturers face the majority of the 50K cases consolidated in the multidistrict litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia under Chief Judge Joseph R. Goodwin. There are also thousands more claims pending in state courts. The two device manufacturers with the most amount of cases are American Medical Systems and Ethicon. Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon division reported in recent filings that they are fighting over 30K claims alone. Other manufacturers include Boston Scientific, C.R. Bard, Coloplast, Cook Medical, and Neomedic.

MT Services LLC provides up-to-date lawsuit news on transvaginal mesh litigations, as well as various services to assist victims with getting the help they need during this difficult time. These services include: Lawsuit Pre-Settlement Funding Cash Advances, corrective or revision surgery procedure funding (or cash needs related to your surgery), and assistance with obtaining an attorney from a nationally recognized transvaginal mesh law firm. (Lawsuit funding or surgical funding products should not be considered to be a lawsuit loan, lawsuit loans, settlement loans, pre-settlement loans, or lawsuit settlement loans.)

Lawsuit Settlement News Reports Actos Drug Cases Trial and Settlement News Update

NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today a primary focus on assisting plaintiffs of the aftereffects of the pharmaceutical drug Actos. According to court documents on August 28th, U.S. District Judge Rebecca Doherty, the judge who is overseeing thousands of Actos lawsuits, refused to overturn a $9 billion verdict in the first bellwether trial of the proceedings. According to KWQC News in Davenport, IA, the judge ruled against the bid because the jury on the case studied and considered evidence suggesting the officials at Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Eli Lilly knew that the use of Actos could lead to an increased risk in developing bladder cancer but failed to adequately warn both doctors and patients of the possibility. The verdict, which is likely to be reduced on appeal according to legal experts due to its sheer size, is the second-largest in the U.S. in 2014, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Court documents show the case at hand was the first of over 3,000 Actos lawsuits pending in the Western District of Louisiana to go to trial. All of the pending claims in Louisiana allege that Takeda and other defendants hid the risk of bladder cancer associated withthe extended use of the drug.

Chris Janish, CEO of MTS, commented on the recent verdicts, "Unfortunately for Eli Lilly and Takeda, the successful sales with this drug clearly produced a high percentage of bladder cancer victims according to the data and the mass lawsuits. The fact that the judge did not throw the verdict out, in spite of a rare $9Bil jury award, says that the case will now proceed to appeal process and will most likely be reduced due to the excessive nature in the message the jury sent to the Actos drug maker."

MTS advises any patients that have contracted bladder cancer while taking Actos to seek a free legal consultation immediately from an Actos Lawyer or Actos Law firm or by inquiring directly with MTS at: https://www.lawsuitsettlementnews.com/actos-cases

da Vinci Lawsuit Settlement News Update: Intuitive in Settlement Talks with Select Private Claims Prior to Entering Mass Tort Litigation, Says Lawsuitsettlementnews.com Website

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a Lawsuit Settlement News Reporting Company, which operates a lawsuit help center: lawsuitsettlementnews.com, reported today that no global settlement is on the horizon, but claims are being reviewed prior to mass tort litigation with possible settlements on the table privately, according to sources close to MTS. Intuitive Surgical Inc., parent company of the da Vinci Robot, took a $67 million "write down" in product liability litigation costs for its malfunctioning components, the Monopolar Curved Scissors (MSC) and MSC Tips, involving the robot litigation. However, this does not mean that Intuitive will accept liability or begin to settle cases in bulk in the near future.

Several complications have arisen from the da Vinci Robot system, such as: lacerations to internal organs including intestines, burns to internal organs and blood vessels, excessive bleeding, nerve damage, severe bowel injuries, punctured blood vessels or uterus, various vaginal injuries, and even death.

In one case involving a Rutherford County Tennessee woman, she has filed suit against Intuitive Surgical for severe and permanent personal injuries after undergoing a robot-assisted hysterectomy. She stated that she suffered a postoperative pelvic abscess during the procedure, which required an extended hospital stay and catheterization. Her da Vinci hysterectomy lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of California. With over 400k surgeries performed each year, numerous other lawsuits have been filed against Intuitive Surgical in U.S State and Federal Courts. Sources believe the injuries are significant and could result in large settlements down the road. MTS is urging patients that have had complications from a da Vinci robot surgery to seek immediate free legal consultation from a da Vinci lawyer or law firm.

Chris Janish, CEO, commented on direction of the Intuitive Litigation, "Our sources close to this litigation believe that Intuitive will eventually agree to a large settlement to resolve all their claims at some point down the road. However, at the current junction of the case -as goes in many mass tort litigations- we are being told the company is attempting to settle private claims today prior to them going into the MDL. This serves two purposes, one that the plaintiff gets paid today, and two the company is able to settle many claims at discounted values. However, it seems much of the discussions are very preliminary in nature and as in any mass tort litigation, some plaintiffs could end up receiving no compensation whatsoever if Intuitive is successful in defending themselves."

Lawsuit Settlement News Reports Two Year Recall Notice is almost up for Stryker Hip Settlements

HACKENSACK, N.J., June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- MT Services LLC, a lawsuit settlement news reporting company which operates lawsuitsettlementnews.com, announced today a focus on helping plaintiffs of Stryker Rejuvenate Hip Stem and the ABG II Modular Hip Stem complications to find the appropriate law firm or hip replacement attorney for lawsuit help.

On July 3, 2012 Howmedica Osteonics Corporation, manufacturers of the Stryker Hip Systems recalled their systems for, "the potential risks associated with modular-neck stems. These risks include the potential for fretting and/or corrosion at or about the modular-neck junction, which may result in adverse local tissue reactions manifesting with pain and/or swelling." However, since then Stryker has been under fire with complications matching other symptoms such as Chromium and Cobalt metal poisoning (also called Metallosis), bone chipping, infections, and device failure. According to industry sources close to MTS, settlement discussions have been ongoing and a prime focus in New Jersey's Bergen County Superior Court where over 1,200 cases have been reviewed.

Chris Janish, CEO, commented on the status of the Stryker litigation, "Our firm is committed to helping all Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II clients with various services since the litigation recall almost 2 years ago. We urge patients who have these products to speak with a law firm immediately, as the statute of limitations to file a claim against Stryker could be up in July in some jurisdictions. We have top Stryker hip lawyers ready to expedite claims for clients that need a free legal consultation today."

Industry sources believe that the Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II hips could have up to a 50% default rate, and cases requiring revisions could be worth north of $500K in some cases. The Stryker hip average settlement value amount is expected to be higher than that of the $250K Depuy ASR settlement. Lawsuit Settlement News continues to take applications for both DePuy law firm free legal consultations and DePuy settlement funding.

Stryker executives have noted that, "Stryker will be reimbursing patients for testing, treatment, revision surgery, if necessary, and other costs relating to this voluntary recall" and that the company is "partnering with Broadspire Services, Inc., a leading third-party claims administrator, to manage requests for reimbursement of costs relating to the voluntary recall of the Rejuvenate and ABG II modular-neck hip stems."
